Introducing a new event designed just for women to explore and address the challenges and opportunities facing us in 2022 and beyond.

Education Session
Join us for an engaging presentation from Vice Mayor of the City of Sacramento, Angelique Ashby as she shares her experience serving on Sacramento City Council, balancing family, her own consulting business, and giving back to the community.  Councilwoman Ashby established herself as a citywide leader and has served the community as an advocate for youth, economic development, public safety, establishing infrastructure, championing citywide diversity and equity, and supporting programs for women and children - particularly those experiencing homelessness.

Networking/Museum Exhibit
After this inspirational talk, enjoy a piece of women's history with a guided tour of the California State Railroad Museum Foundation’s special exhibit: “Crossing Lines: Women of the American Railroad.”

Speaker

Angelique Ashby
Vice Mayor
City of Sacramento

Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby is the District One Sacramento City Councilmember. She was the youngest member of the council when she was elected to office in 2010 and from July 2014 through December 2020, she served as the sole female on the Sacramento City Council.  Angelique is also the only Councilmember in Sacramento history to give birth while in office.

The tenacity she mastered in order to get through college and law school as a single Mom has helped her navigate the often-choppy political waters of City Hall. Her legal training, her faith, the mentorship of her Father, the skills learned as a business owner and the values of a Mom with three children make her who she is - a woman determined to help as many people as she possibly can.

The Governing Institute of Washington, D.C. selected her as one of 25 National honorees, recognized as women leaders in Government from across the United States.
