Refocusing the “Why”: Expanding Your Value Proposition
What is value? Is it what your members get from your organization or is it the feeling of belonging in something you believe in? Each of our organizations has an elevator pitch or value proposition to sell why joining as a member worth it. But, when looking at a value proposition, how often do we look beyond the transactional side of value? What members save? What members receive? In the past, association membership was an assumed part of many industries but today people aren’t joining just to belong. As we work to develop inclusive organizations, we must go back to the values that compel individuals to join and belong.
