What Are Couch Chats?

Couch Chats are facilitator-led conversations in which you engage and connect with your peers virtually to discuss the changing business environment and association dynamics. Couch chats are not like traditional education sessions where you just "listen", but rather, we encourage you to actively participate in the conversations. If you have questions, challenges, or successes to discuss, please join us!

Theme: Trends in Advocacy

• Legislative days – methods of engagement and variations of hybrid models. This may continue for a few years because virtual access is more convenient and the construction at the Capital making access more difficult.
• Preparing for 2023 and a lot of new legislators (from an issues perspective). They are looking for big ticket items to get their name out there. What will be the hot button issues and get your legislative cases return. Know which districts are going to turn over and get to know those legislators. Do the outreach after the primary.
• Getting more resources – a discussion on developing legislative interns. How they can be used and where to recruit them?
