professional development opportunities (nearly 100 CAE credit hours).

Below you will find detailed descriptions of each offering. Events are added to the calendar on an ongoing basis.

Upcoming Events


Alliance Learning Collective (ALC) - virtual
Fall
The ALC brings association professionals from across the US together to cultivate connections while providing deeper learning experiences. You'll be matched with a cohort of your peers over three highly interactive 90-minute learning sessions. You'll be learning from a national expert and facilitator while tapping into the knowledge of the community.

AMC Retreat
August or September
An annual two-day retreat in for the owners/principals of association management companies to discuss challenges and share ideas.

Associations 360
October
This program focuses on providing an overarching examination of associations, their role in society, and their major functional areas, with an emphasis on developing leadership and management skills. This offering will be especially helpful for those who are newer to the association profession, would like a broader understanding, and/or are interested in expanding their career within the industry. 

CAE Study Group - virtual
Spring and Fall
For those pursuing their Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. The study group meets together virtually once a week for two months prior to the exam. More Details

Couch Chats - virtual
Spring and Fall
Facilitator-led discussion groups dedicated to one of the four primary areas of association management: CEO/executive directors, membership and marketing, events and education, and operations and finance.  Designed to allow you to connect with your peers virtually to discuss current challenges and share ideas in a relaxed small group setting. Free for members.


ELEVATE Annual Conference
April
ELEVATE is one of our signature events where association professionals come together for three days of exploring "how to" and "what if..." thinking. The conference is designed with education topics to appeal to all CalSAE members. 


Insights Executive Summit
February
This program is designed specifically for association executives. It is a 1.5-day immersive program, designed to offer a unique blend of education and networking opportunities. High-level content will be delivered in an intensive and interactive environment. 

LevelUp Regional Education/Networking
Spring and Fall
Designed to help you get to the next level by focusing on various elements of association management and leadership. Programs vary by region - an educational keynote speaker will be featured usually followed by networking time and a luncheon.

MAXIMIZE Your Membership
Sept, Feb & during Seasonal & ELEVATE
A deep dive into CalSAE and all of our membership benefits and offerings. Targeted to new and re-engaging members.


Membership & Marketing Summit (MMS)
June
A full-day immersive exploration of emerging ideas, industry trends and leading best practices in association membership and marketing.  Includes a keynote speaker and multi-track break out sessions.

Live Webinars & On Demand Learning - virtual
Year Round
A variety of live webinars are produced by CalSAE around 6 times a year on a range of topics such as DEI, Finance, Membership and Marketing, Ethics, etc.  Additionally members can access webinars produced by other SAEs as well as on-demand programs by clicking here.

Peer-to-Peer Social Learning
Year Round
Each region often produces regular informal discussions (virtual or in-person), which provide interaction directly with colleagues. Examples include Peer Luncheons by function area, Coffee & Connect

Seasonal Spectacular
December
Seasonal Spectacular is one of our signature events, held for two days in December which includes the largest annual association industry tradeshow on the West Coast, the EXCHANGE Appointment Show, education programs, an industry luncheon, and many networking opportunities all in the spirit of the holiday season.

Women in Leadership
March
Designed for women in the association industry, to explore and address the challenges and opportunities facing us as working professionals. Includes networking time and an activity experience that varies each year - previously a women's museum exhibit and wine train social.
