CEO Couch Chat: Finding a Lobbyist for Your Association

Associations represent a variety of industries, each with their own unique issues and priorities. Advocating on behalf of their clients, lobbyists represent groups that reflect all different aspects of society. Lobbyists continually communicate with legislators and their staff members, in order to bring issues to their attention. When choosing a professional lobbyist to represent your industry, it’s important for that they have connections to important players in your area of interest and who have expertise in the policy details that may impact it. But, where do you begin when thinking about a lobbyist anchored to your association’s focus? What criteria and specifications should be included in the RFP? What interview strategies go into vetting and selecting the right lobbyist(s)? After they’re in place, what comes next for tracking progress, course-correcting, and proactively representing the industry as issues arise? Discuss these items with your fellow association leaders in a quick, interactive and engaging Couch Chat.

Audience

Although this Couch Chat is designed for CEOs, everyone is welcome.
