Production Hacks to Produce Exceptional Live Events

Whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid, producing events is a juggling act between staff, speakers, venues, multimedia platforms, audio-visual teams and so much more. In order to produce a flawless event that leverages the hundreds of moving parts, clear intention and design must go into the overall experience.

From managing the onstage talent to the technical know-how, you’ll learn how to engage in the best possible way with your AV Team from the engineers, show producers, stage managers, and even the audience, to design and execute the perfect experiential live event. This session will use relevant examples from recent events including presidential inaugurations, major televised sporting events, as well as more intimate, but highly produced audience experiences. By working together, explore how to build effective show flows, anticipate challenges, manage timelines, and learn how to bring together your team behind the scenes.

This is the perfect session for a seasoned event manager or team lead looking to better understand or even take on some stage management responsibilities, or someone interested in production and looking for a path to design, and direct their own events. Learn the critical elements to prepare for worst-case scenarios with backups and rehearsed ‘what-ifs’ so your next event is delivered seamlessly!

Content Leader

Troy J. Peters, CTS, Chief Experience Officer, SEAS Productions

Troy began in motion picture production working with 20th Century Fox, Paramount, and Disney in the late nineties before migrating to association show management with the Society for Optics & Photonics in Washington State where he was part of a team managing a dozen events from 500 to well over 20,000 attendees across the Unites States, Canada, and Europe. In 2010 he became a Certified Technology Specialist with the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA) and has been combining technology and storytelling experiences for clients ever since.   With his innate understanding of what it takes to design complete audience experiences interlaced with the demands of the event life cycle he has continues to share his knowledge as a speaker, a board member, and a mentor to others in the business.  As the Chief Experience Officer with SEAS Productions Troy is guiding the company to embrace change, step outside their comfort zone and immerse marketing and client relations as one and the same by sharing the “secret sauce” that makes their company unique in the audio visual and production space. When not working he enjoys playing golf, reading, traveling, cooking, and searching for new adventures with his wife and ten-year old twins.
